Appropriate Process Technologies – new heights for mineral processing

Small mining conjures up reclusive old timers in days gone by, or perhaps hoards of clay covered artisanals digging up river courses today. Commonly known as small scale mining or artisanal mining this sector has been in the wings of mining for ages.

This is the first time a security company is moving beyond the traditional method of controlling the distribution of its uniforms to its guards, with the expert technology of the management system. The clogging process starts as soon as a filter is fitted and the pressure drop will gradually increase at a rate dependent on environmental and working conditions. Each 0.5 bar pressure drop draws 3% more energy, resulting in an increase in power consumption and operating costs. For example, in a 100 l/s compressed air system operating at 7 bar during 6,000 hours a year, an extra pressure drop of 150 mbar will waste no less than 2,000 kWh annually.
