‘Europe as a partner for African mining’
The African mining industry is gaining momentum with rising investment opportunities in several African countries where investors can benefit from low operational costs, untapped resources and business favourable tax regime (tax deductible costs and losses). The market is on the rise as well with increasing commodity prices for gold and copper leading to more stable environment. Reforms in mining laws and greater regulatory oversight has also made Africa a stable mining investment destination.
Mining On Top: Africa (MOTA 2018), the definitive Africa-focussed mining event in Europe is back for the fifth year and will be held in Geneva, Switzerland from 5-6 June 2018. The conference connects decision makers from both private and public sectors to meet, shares ideas, network and drive economic and social development in Africa through the mining sector.
Being held in Geneva, home of Banking & Investment, the 5th edition of MOTA will be attended by investors and financiers from the prestigious banks and finest trading houses domiciled there. Given that mining is a cyclical business and the sector is enjoying a positive growth rate in 2017 with industry-wide trends towards free cash flow, increased momentum in earning and return of excess capital to shareholders, large investment opportunities are foreseeable in the coming period.
MOTA 2018 will emphasise on close links between Europe and African mining, concentrating on new developments and investment for further growth and expansion. The conference with its updated, saleable programme and quality workshops will ensure that the right people attend i.e. principal audience of mining houses, ministers and investors.
