Occupational health and safety in action at Africa’s leading OHS trade exhibition
South African President Cyril Ramaphosa included a reference to the mining industry during his State of the Nation Address, 16 February 2018, as follows:
“With the revival in commodity prices, we are determined to work with mining companies, unions and communities to grow the sector, attract new investment, create jobs and set the industry on a new path of transformation and sustainability. …We are extremely concerned about the rise in mining fatalities last year. We call on mining companies to work together with all stakeholders to ensure that mine accidents are dramatically reduced. One mining fatality is one too many.”
The mining sector will once again be represented at the 2018 A-OSH EXPO event, Africa’s premier occupational health and safety (OHS) event, from 22 to 24 May 2018, Gallagher Convention Centre, Midrand.
Attend A-OSH EXPO to find out more on:
- Implementing excellent habits in work and safety behaviour.
- Prepare for and try to prevent worst-case scenarios.
- Protect your employees’ health and safety in the workplace.
