Gold Fields’ director and deputy-chairperson steps down

Gold Fields has announced the resignation of Rick Menell, a non-executive director and deputy-chairperson, from the Board of Directors of the Company, with effect from 10 March 2021.

Menell’s resignation follows a successful tenure of thirteen years as a Non-Executive Director of the Company, having been appointed to the Board as a Non-Executive Director in 2008 and as Deputy Chairman from 2015.

Menell led the recent CEO succession process on behalf of the Gold Fields Board, which was concluded earlier this year.

Menell decided to step down after the completion of this process to allow the Company to refresh its directorate in the interest of good governance.

Menell played a key role in supporting Nick Holland and the executive team in building and creating a truly global gold company over the last decade.
