The Commissioning Permit Coordinator is responsible for implementation and managing the commissioning permit to
work systems in order to provide safe areas of work for commissioning and construction activities. The role is also responsible to train personnel in the permit to work and isolation systems and the implementation of the permit to work and Isolation system for the Operations.


  • Compliance with the HSE Policies, procedures and standards applicable to the Commissioning Team
  • Report all incidents, health anomalies and workplace health hazards via the approved Incident and Hazard Reporting procedures
  • Provide effective leadership, and direction for permits to ensure a safe and timely commissioning of the plant areas
  • Manage the Permit to Work system for commissioning
  • Monitoring the compliance with the Construction to Commissioning Procedure, Permit to work and Isolation
  • and Tagging Procedure
  • Monitor the isolation equipment and consumables available and advise the Commissioning Manager of any issues
  • Managing vendors and contractors and ensuring that they understand all of the relevant site and commissioning requirements

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

  • Previous experience in management of work permits and isolation systems
  • Proven exposure to commissioning systems and processes
  • Demonstrated organisational skills and ability to prioritise multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Proactive and proven capacity to think conceptually and make assertive decisions
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cohesively with team members
  • Africa experience highly advantageous
