Client and job description:
Our client, a manufacturing company, have engineering project teams working with clients operating in sectors including but not limited to Material Handling, Modular Solutions, Mining, Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Radio Astronomy and other heavy industries. They require the services of a qualified Finance Manager to oversee and manage their financial functions for their offices based in Cape Town.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare Monthly Management reports
- Prepare Quarterly Board reports
- Prepare balance sheet, profit and loss statement and other reports
- Develop, measure, and maintain key financial metrics
- Overall budget management
- Monitoring and implementing financial policies and procedures
- Work with the management team to grow the businesses by formulating strategies and plans and providing sound financial advice to the CEO and executive management team
- Managing debtors and creditors,
- Maintaining and enhancing controls, ensuring accurate capture of data into the accounting system, books up to trial balance, production of management accounts and reports, production of audit ready Financial Statements.
- Preparing statutory returns and filings including VAT
- Strategy development on management level
- Strategy evaluation on senior management level
Qualification and experience required:
- CA(SA)/CIMA
- 5 – 10 years’ post article experience in Construction/Mining/Manufacturing related industry
- Management experience
- Advanced Excel skills
