Job Description:

The roles main responsibilities are to:

  • Manage the provision of emergency and critical care services for the operation
  • Provide advice on the development and implementation of emergency patient management services
  • Manage the development of emergency patient management skills of the clinic staff


  • Contribute to clinic policy and procedure formulation
  • Ensure adherence to EHS policies, procedures, programmes, practices and campaigns within the section
  • Ensure risk assessments are conducted on critical equipment, systems, procedures and tasks within the responsibility areas
  • Ensure appropriate PPE and safety equipment is used
  • Ensure compliance to best practice for patient care
  • Capacity to handle complex situations, make decisions under pressure and handle ambiguity
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to facilitate groups and present information
  • Use of infection control practices relevant to critical environment
  • Emergency driving
  • Emergency management and triage
  • Extrication and basic rescue

Requirements:Qualification and Skill

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Paramedic or Health Science and completion of an internship program
  • 5 years’ working as an active Paramedic
  • Experience in working in rural and/ or mining operations
  • Current certification/ accreditation of clinical skills
  • Excellent data management and intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Driver’s license
  • Physically fit
