EarthStream Global is seeking a Remuneration and Benefits Manager, based in Johannesburg, working for a leading Mining services company.


  • Honours / Bachelor Degree in Human Resources Management or related
  • At least 8 years’ proven experience as a Remuneration and Benefits Specialist or Manager.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant Remuneration practices and Tax legislation
  • Knowledge of payroll practices
  • Knowledge of grading systems
  • Membership of SARA will be an advantage
  • Knowledge of Rem & Ben up into Africa


  • Develop and implement a remuneration and benefits strategy and action plans
  • Assist with long term Human Resource Strategic plans
  • Identify and interpret related legislation and its impact on the Remuneration functions and ensure compliance
  • Research, develop and review appropriate remuneration systems, processes and methodologies and adopt best practices
  • Conduct Annual salary & Benefits surveys and trend analysis and make suitable remuneration recommendations
  • Develop, maintain and update salary scales and models
  • Oversee Annual Salary reviews process
  • Provide advice to Managers in terms of remuneration and benefits packages
  • Evaluate new positions and remuneration thereof
  • Establish and chair the Job Evaluation Committee
  • Develop and review all remuneration related policies (e.g. leave, retirement funds, medical aid, housing, cellphones, company vehicles, etc)
  • Alignment of remuneration and benefits
  • Design and Review various incentive programmes
  • Development and management of expatriates’ policies.
  • Assess Remuneration and Benefits risks and incorporate mitigating controls
  • Compile remuneration and benefits Reports
  • Establish and maintain relationships with industry role players
  • Provide leadership within the remuneration and benefits function
  • Management of Payroll function
  • Development of payroll controls
  • Monitor and evaluate team members against performance standards
  • Ensure discipline is maintained within own area of responsibility
