Job Description: 

The Regional Sales Representative plays a pivotal role in the success of the business. This candidate will directly contribute to the company’s brand reputation and business growth.

You will also help build strong, positive relationship within our target market and give customers an opportunity to feedback their experience of our products and services.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain and manage both new and existing business opportunities for the company’s product portfolio within the assigned territory
  • Develop and implement business plans and strategies to continue growth in the designated territory
  • Maintain and build strategic relationships with existing clients, potential customers and key industry contacts
  • Achieve sales targets set on an annual basis
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction prompt services
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the region and, in particular, customer needs and requirements
  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations / demonstrations of the company’s product range and associated benefits for customers
  • Contribute to development and ongoing updating of financial and personnel budgets and forecasts for approval by senior management
  • Prepare documentation and submissions for Tenders, Expressions of Interest and Requests for Information
  • Represent the business in industry events and tradeshows and collaborate with the Marketing and Product Management team to prepare for such events

Requirements:Qualification and Skill

  • Degree in Business, Sales, Engineering or other relevant disciplines
  • At least ten (10) years sales / commercial experience, ideally focused directly on the mining or heavy equipment industries
  • Commercial experience dealing with technology-based solutions and products (highly desirable)
  • An ability to work well with the public and an ability to adopt a customer perspective
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal. Language skills in French and Afrikaans are highly desirable
  • Strong presentation skills especially to groups and forums of customers
  • Strong skills in developing and maintaining strong customer loyalty
  • Strong problem solving, interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • High level of personal drive and self-motivation
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills
  • Experience with Miller Heiman sales methodologies a plus
  • Ability to travel as required and work outside of normal work hours– there is a considerable amount of intrastate and international travel (approx. 50%) required to fulfil this role
