The court order was issued by the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania on 26 April 2016.
It confirmed the award issued by the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA) and ordered A1 Specialised Services and Supplies Limited to pay to Impala Platinum a total amount of USD$201 million.
The court order follows a dispute between Impala Platinum and A1 in which the platinum miner asserted that A1 defaulted on amounts due to it. The parties agreed to have the matter heard by the LCIA which duly heard the matter.
A final award was issued on 9 December 2015 in Impala Platinum’s favour for the full amount claimed.
Impala Platinum also says it will pursue all legal avenues available to it to collect the amount due.
