Before joining Implats, Goodlace was the CEO for base-metals mining company Metorex and fulfilled several roles at gold miner Gold Fields between 1998 and 2008.

Implats chairman Mandla Gantsho thanked Goodlace for his outstanding contribution to Implats, “at a difficult time for the platinum mining sector and the mining industry generally.”

The company said that it is reviewing its leadership succession plans as well as embarking on a structured search process to fill the vacancy.
