JSE/NYSE-listed Sibanye-Stillwater advises that acts of violence continue to be experienced at its South African gold operations.
Further to the announcement on 14 June 2018 advising the tragic loss of five employees who passed away after entering an area at its Kloof Ikamva mine that is not currently mined, on 11 June 2018, dual-listed Sibanye-Stillwater has provided an update on safety at its operations.
Sibanye-Stillwater confirmed over the weekend that the remaining three trapped workers at its Driefontein Masakhane shaft did not survive the seismic event, but were recovered and brought to surface.
Following a seismic event at Sibanye-Stillwater’s Masakhane shaft at Driefontein yesterday, four people, of 13 trapped underground, have succumbed to their fatal injuries.
