Maputo, Mozambique — 09 May 2013 – Australian-based and listed mining company Auroch Minerals is set to conclude its gold prospecting programme in the “Guy Fawkes” sector of a block in the central Mozambican province of Manica.

“With a view to increasing confirmed gold reserves of 2.97Moz at 1.83g/t, the company has finished its 28th of a total 31 test drills and initial results confirm the presence of a classic mineral structure within quartz seams,” reports Macauhub News Agency, quoting a company statement. Five of the first seven test drills found 10.83g/t.

Auroch added that the samples collected in the remaining three tests were due to be sent to the laboratory in the next few days.

The test drilling in the “Guy Fawkes” sector accounts for 7,445m of an exploration programme of 22,000m that Auroch Minerals plans to carry out this year.

The company intends developing and consolidating the Odzi-Mutare-Manica region, which has thus far remained practically unexplored, in order to turn it into a large gold mining project.
