Perth, Australia — MININGREVIEW.COM — 28 October 2010 – Emerging, Australian-based uranium development company Bannerman Resources Limited has announced that Monica Kalondo has been appointed as a non-executive director of the company’s 80%-owned Namibian subsidiary, Bannerman Mining Resources (Namibia) (Pty) Limited “’ the sole owner of the Etango uranium project and Swakop River exploration project mineral prospecting licences in Namibia.
Kalondo is a leading Namibian businesswoman who is currently managing director of Stimulus Private Equity “’ Namibia’s first private equity fund “’ and also serves on the national council of the Namibian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
In addition to her professional activities, Kalondo was instrumental in the formulation and implementation of Namibia’s Financial Sector Charter, and is involved in other initiatives aimed at guiding national policy formulation. In 2006, she was appointed by the President of the Namibia to serve as a member of the President’s Economic Advisory Council.
She has a law degree and has received numerous accolades, including being the youngest laureate of the prestigious Namibian Business Hall of Fame.
