Crocodile River sets quarterly record

Vancouver, Canada — MININGREVIEW.COM — 17 October 2008 – Canada’s leading platinum group metals producer – Toronto, AIM and JSE-listed Eastern Platinum Limited – has set a new quarterly record in the three months ended 30 September 2008 at its Crocodile River mine on the Western Limb of the Bushveld Complex.
A news release issued here confirmed that the record output for the third quarter had amounted to 30 755 PGM ounces – 1.5% above previous record production for the three months ended 30 June 2008. Total tonnes processed in the third quarter topped 317 600, and PGM production for the first three quarters of the year was just under 90 000 ounces.

CEO Ian Rozier commented: “We are pleased to report that we have been able to continue our production build-up at Crocodile River while going ahead with process plant upgrading. Once again we have achieved a quarterly record of PGM ounces in Q3 2008., and w e plan to continue this trend into Q4 with our 2008 production now expected to be approximately 12 0000 PGM ounces,” he added.

“We believe Eastplats is well positioned to meet the challenges that face the sector in the short term, and we remain very optimistic about the mid and long-term prospects for PGM’s and for the company” Rozier concluded.
