London, England — MININGREVIEW.COM — 20 February, 2008 – GMA Resources Plc – listed on the London Stock Exchange’s Alternative Investment Market – has appointed David Netherway as the new chairman of the company.
David was formerly a non-executive director of GMA. He succeeds Richard Linnell, who will move from his former role as chairman to become deputy chairman. This move follows the recent commencement of production at the Amesmessa gold project in the Sahara of southern Algeria.
The company has also announced the appointment of David Santley as chief financial officer of GMA Resources. He will report directly to CEO Douglas Perkins and will, for the foreseeable future, be based predominately in Algeria.
Santley joins GMA Resources after a 13-year career at Anadarko Petroleum Corporation during which time he held a number of positions in international business development, operations, and corporate planning. He has worked extensively in Latin America, Algeria, the UK and North America, speaks fluent Spanish and French, and holds a BA in Mathematics and Economics and an MBA from the University of Virginia.
