Jonah’s new exploration manager

Jonah Mining – the pan-African exploration and mining subsidiary of Jonah Capital – has appointed Naadira Haniff as generative exploration manager. Her appointment is effective as of 1 February 2008, and she will report to head of exploration and new business development Warwick Bullen.

Naadira has over 10 years of mining and exploration experience. Prior to joining Jonah Mining, she spent five years with Anglo Coal as a geological modeler, building and validating coal models and responsible for resource calculations. Her expertise led to her being involved in various drilling and coal projects, where she successfully built six coal models at Anglo Coal’s Geological Services in Witbank.

Naadira began her career at Anglovaal as exploration geologist, where she focused her attention on ultra deep drilling of Wits Gold. In 2001 she was employed by Anglo Gold as senior production geologist, and thereafter obtained a Master of Science degree in Environmental Geochemistry from the University of Cape Town (UCT).

Her previous academic qualifications include a B.Sc (Hon) in Geology/Geochemistry degree from the UCT.
