MDM Engineering wins part of Gold Fields contract

Johannesburg, South Africa — MININGREVIEW.COM — 30 November 2009 – MDM Engineering Group Limited “’ an AIM-listed and Johannesburg-based minerals process engineering and project management company “’ has announced that it is one of the companies that has been awarded the contract for the Feasibility Study for Gold Fields Limited’s West Wits tailings facility at Driefontein in South Africa.

Revealing this in a statement issued here, the company said work had commenced and was expected to be completed during the first quarter of 2010.

The statement added that the MDM team had a 21-year track record of undertaking scoping and feasibility studies, including designing and constructing some 52 metallurgical plants throughout Africa. It had extensive gold and uranium experience within its process team, having designed three integrated gold and uranium recovery plants and twenty six gold process plants.

MDM Engineering executive director George Bennett commented: “MDM is pleased to have been awarded the FS for Gold Fields West Wits tailings recovery project in Westonaria, South Africa. We look forward to working with the Gold Fields team involved in this project.”
