Mine death in the Free State

Johannesburg, South Africa — MININGREVIEW.COM — 02 February 2009 – Africa’s third-largest gold producer – Harmony Gold Mining Company Limited – has announced the death of one of the mineworkers at its Masimong mine in the Free State.

A news release issued here said the mineworker had lost his life in a locomotive accident at the mine. It added that company management and the Department of Minerals and Energy were commencing with their investigation today.
