Mineral Resources Minister Advocate Ngoako Ramatlhodi has called an urgent meeting today to discuss the situation at the Blyvooruitzicht mine, which is currently under liquidation.

“The most urgent matter we must address relates to the humanitarian challenges facing those who worked at the mine and who stay in surrounding areas. The meeting must come up with both short-term and long term solutions,” Minister Ramatlhodi says.

Stakeholders expected to attend the meeting include representatives from the Departments of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Water Affairs, Justice and Constitutional Development, Social Development and the Merafong City Local Municipality.
