New director for ARM

Johannesburg, South Africa — MININGREVIEW.COM — 29 February, 2008 – Lincoln Allison (Stompie) Shiels has been appointed with immediate effect as executive director: new business for diversified South African mining company African Rainbow Minerals Limited (ARM).

With excellent long-life, low-cost operating assets in key commodities, ARM owns ferrous and base metals, platinum and coal operations, and holds a significant interest in the gold mining sector through its shareholding in Harmony Gold.

Announcing the new appointment here this week, ARM revealed that Pieter Rorich had resigned from the ARM Board with effect from 20 February 2008, in order to pursue other interests.
