A sample of graphite
recovered in the Ancuabe
region of Mozambique
Perth, Australia — 15 July 2013 – Australian-based mineral exploration company Triton Minerals has identified new graphite outcrops in the Balama Norte area of a bloc in northern Mozambique’s Cabo Delgado province.

In a company market report released here, Triton Minerals director Brad Boyle said the graphite prospecting bloc was close to the graphite exploitation project of another Australian company Syrah Resources, reports Macauhub News Agency.  He added that he was happy to report positive news about the project to the market.

The drilling will help Triton Minerals better identify the location, depth, breadth and direction of the graphite deposits it has found.

“Exploratory drilling will begin next week,” Boyle said. The company has meanwhile obtained two new licences for mine exploitation in the Ancuabe region from the Mozambique Mineral Resources Ministry.
