Johannesburg, South Africa — MININGREVIEW.COM — 14 February, 2008 – Palabora Mining Company Limited has announced the appointment of Matt Gili as the company’s new managing director from 1 March, 2008, it was announced here today.

Currently general manager responsible for underground and concentrator operations, Matt has been a key member of the Palabora team for the last three years, the announcement adds, and has contributed significantly to the greatly improved operational and safety performance.

He succeeds Keith Marshall, who leaves Palabora at the end of February 2008, to become managing director of Ivanhoe Mining Company. Keith is being seconded by Rio Tinto to the Oyu Toigoi project in Mongolia, one of the largest undeveloped copper projects in the world.
