Maputo, Mozambique --- MININGREVIEW.COM --- 27 February 2012 - Six new mineral deposits "’ among them a promising gold outcrop "’ have been discovered in Mozambique.

Reporting this in a dispatch from here, the provincial director for mining resources told Macauhub the new mineral deposits had been recorded in Cabo Delgado province in northern Mozambique.

Contacted by phone from Maputo, Ramiro Nguiraze said that the minerals found were grenadines, aquamarines, tourmalines, blue topaz and green tourmalines.

He went on to say that an apparently promising gold deposit had been found in the Namuno district.  A more detailed assessment was underway to determine the extent and grade of the deposit.  

The provincial director also pointed out that the companies involved were not wasting any time. “Some companies have already presented the documentation needed to explore the new mining resources,” he added.
