London, England — MININGREVIEW.COM — 06 May 2009 – International gold mining and exploration company Randgold Resources Limited has announced the retirement of two senior directors – Aubrey Paverd and Bernard Asher – with effect from 5 May 2009.
Asher – the senior independent director – joined the board at the time of its initial IPO in July 1997. He will be succeeded as senior independent director by Norborne Cole, who has been a director of the company since May 2006.
Norb Cole started working for the Coca-Cola Company as a field representative in the United States in 1966, and advanced steadily through the organisation, becoming chief executive of Coca-Cola Amatil in Australia in 1994, a position he held until 1998. Under his leadership, Coca-Cola Amatil was built into the second largest Coca-Cola bottler in the world.
Now based in San Antonio, Texas, he serves on the boards of a number of US companies.
