South Africa – The board of Royal Bafokeng Platinum (RBPlat), the black-owned and black-controlled platinum company that operates the Bafokeng Rasimone Platinum Mine and is building the Styldrift I project in the North West, on Tuesday approved the distribution of shares with a total value of over R47 million to the group’s senior management.

A total of 833 085 ordinary shares at a value of R56.70 per share were awarded in terms of the group’s bonus and forfeitable share plans.

RBPlat CEO Steve Phiri has received R6.2 million in shares, CFO Martin Prinsloo received R3.6 million, while major subsidiary directors  Neil Carr and Vicky Tlabanelo received R3.5 million and 2.4 million in shares, respectively.

RBPlat company secretary Lester Jooste received R730 863 in shares.
