No action will be taken against Gold Fields, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) Unit of the US Securities Exchange Commission advised on Monday.

This investigation is in connection with the Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) transaction related to the granting of a mining licence for South Deep.

Based on the information available to the FCPA, it has recommended to the Commission that no enforcement action be taken against Gold Fields.

The South African gold producer was notified of this by the FCPA following the conclusion of its investigation.
