Sibanye Gold’s Neal Froneman CEO of the year

Dual-listed Sibanye Gold CEO Neal Froneman has been voted as “CEO of the year” at the 13th annual Mines and Money London conference, held last week.

Mines and Money London, which is Europe’s largest mining investment conference and exhibition, brings together over 2 500 attendees from 75 countries. The Mines and Money advisory panel, which selected Froneman, is comprised of a number of highly regarded global mining industry leaders and pundits.

“It is a great honour for me to accept this prestigious award on behalf of the Sibanye team, that I have the pleasure of leading.

“Sibanye’s senior management team has the capacity and competence to have driven Sibanye’s transformation. I am immensely proud to have been at the helm of Sibanye as we have developed and progressed our strategy,” Froneman said.

Sibanye Gold recently made clear its intention to transform from a gold producer to become a diverse multi-commodity miners following its acquisitions of Anglo American Platinum’s (Amplats’) Rustenburg platinum Operations and Aquarius Platinum which were announced on 9 September 2015 and 6 October 2015 respectively.
