Johannesburg, South Africa — MININGREVIEW.COM — 14 November 2011 – A study into state intervention in the mining industry commissioned by the national general council of the African National Congress “’ and which covered countries in Africa, South America and Europe “’ has been handed to the party’s policy committee.

Citing the Mail & Guardian, Miningmx reports that the researchers, including Paul Jordan, formerly of Mintek, were scheduled on Friday to hand their findings to Jeff Radebe, minister of justice and constitutional development, and chairman of the policy committee.

The research team investigated state intervention into the mining economies of all the countries identified by the party’s national executive committee. These included Zambia, Namibia and Botswana. The team also visited Chile, Brazil and Venezuela as well as Sweden, Norway and Finland, the newspaper added.
