Impala’s Rustenburg
operation, where 5,000
workers have stopped

Johannesburg, South Africa — MININGREVIEW.COM — 23 January 2012 – Impala Platinum Holdings Limited (Implats) confirmed today that the work stoppage involving approximately 5,000 rock drill operators which had started on Friday, 20 January 2012, was continuing today at the company’s Rustenburg operations.

In a statement released here the company revealed that the work stoppage was related to salary grievances.

It added that a court order had declared the strike illegal and that the company would follow due legal process with all employees who did not report for duty tomorrow.
